For our Honey Orchid Oolong we highly recommend making short brews, Gong Fu style, for optimal flavour.
Boil fresh filtered water to 100℃. Use 4-8 gram tea leaves in your strainer or gaiwan using 150ml water for gaiwan or 200ml for a cup
8 steeps: 6s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 25s, 30s, 45s, 90s
Worry not if you don’t have traditional gong fu tea ware. You can easily use your strainer to steep in your cup, making several short steeps, or use a small teapot not using more than the recommended 150-200ml.
Porcelain is highly recommended though, for bringing out optimal flavour of the Orchid Oolong.
- 2nd and 3rd cup are the best! So don't stop after first cup. Keep brewing.
Pheonix Honey Orchid Oolong
Our Honey Orchid Oolong is crafted in the Phoenix Mountains in Chaozhou, northern Guangdong in China, renowned for its mountain terrain, mineral-rich rocky soil, hot climatic conditions and most importantly the unique 600-year-old cultivars. All of these factors contribute to this tea’s naturally honey like sweetness and velvety smooth floral notes of orchid. Our Imperial Phoenix Honey Orchid is made with the cultivar variety known as Shui Xian cultivar, which is thought to offer a distinctive and superior flavour combination.
This Phoenix Honey Orchid is one of the most sought-after teas amongst Oolong tea lovers and is also one of our favourites here at Kiani Tea.
